So where does Knit Happen?

Knit Happens, the retail store, is located in historic Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, just a few miles outside of downtown Washington DC and right off the Capitol Beltway / Interstate 95. The shop is easily accessible by car or Metro. Old Town Alexandria is a haven of shops, restaurants, and historic sites and houses that makes it a perfect place to come and visit. There is street parking available all around the shop, and a parking lot on the corner of St. Asaph and Cameron Streets, just one block from the shop.

    

 

Take exit 177 to Route One North towards Arlington/Alexandria. Go up to the first light and take a right on Franklin St. Go up two blocks to the light for Washington Street and take a left at the light. We are about 7 lights up on your right, between King and Cameron Sts.

Take the Key or 14th Street Bridge to the George Washington Memorial Parkway South towards Reagan National Airport / Old Town Alexandria. As you enter Old Town the GW Parkway becomes Washington St. We are about 8 lights up on your left between Cameron and King Sts.

Take the Blue or Yellow Line to the King Street Metro. You can then walk down King Street to the intersection of King and Washington (about 10 blocks), and take a left on Washington St.  The shop is only 1/2 a block away! Or you can hop on the DASH bus and take the AT8 line to the intersection of King and Washington (Schedule info can be found here).

On weekends you can even take the DASH About weekend shuttle bus from the Metro to the shop for free! The shuttle goes every 15 minutes from the King Street Station to Old Town Alexandria's Market Square (just 3 blocks from the shop).
